** NOTE: if you do not have a credit card needed to process membership for the Academy Forum, Lulu is right - a debit card from your bank account will usually work ...

or, now days you can buy pre-paid credit cards - $25, 50, 100, ... whatever amount works for you - the value is added at the cashier or customer service counter - they work like any other credit card up to the amount you funded ... it may also be re-loaded with funds as you need to continue using the card.

Join the Employment Law ACADEMY FORUM now!

    http://undercoverlawyer.com/amember/signup.php

The Private Employment Law Academy Forum is now open for Charter Memberships for just $1 for the first month, and a super discounted $14.97 monthly after that.

This special $14.97 monthly rate lasts for life, but you will only be able to lock it now.

(clarification from later post) ...I will keep the intro rate of $14/month open through August.
As of September 1st the price for new members will go up because the full Academy will be open -
(the price for people who join before August 31 will remain $14 after Sept 1).

When the full Employment Law Academy opens (in addition to the forum),
the monthly price will go up to $47.

The Academy will be THE place on the internet to learn how to defeat a bully boss at every level, including court. Don't let someone else get your spot at the low charter price. Join the Employment Law Academy Forum now!

will it have a search feature? will previous postings on the old forum carry over?
how is it really private? just curious....at my work I saw all kinds of things that were suppose to be private or confidential shared and discussed. even customers private and personal information. Would not believe what I saw and experienced. The most grievous was done by management! Although I am sure many of you here have not one ounce of trouble believing that now would ya?

Fletwood, as I understand it, this forum continues but it is more of an "open" forum. The Academy forum is a separate forum and billed as being more private - part of that is due to having to join and pay for it which should keep out the people that join every forum they find. If you had access to the members list like Curt, Sleepless and I have, you'd see literally thousands of people who have "joined" the forum and many are sleeze bags that just join to try to channel people to their porn sites. Sleepless, Curt and I try to catch as many of these sleezeballs as possible and delete them. They also never seem to post much except for those ambulance chasing attorneys that you will see comments like "Spammers go away" from time to time.

    Fleetwood & Punch,

I'll try to address your concerns directly. The Academy Forum is just the first step in building the full Employment Law Academy, which will have tons of information, a blog by me, how-to videos, and easy links to every legal resource you could need. People who join now will get all that for way less than it takes me to provide it. I hope that the participating members of this forum (and those who regularly read it but don't post) will make the switch to the new forum.

Because I know cost can be an issue, the first month is only $1. After that it's $14, even after all the forum resources become available. But, this forum will still be here. My hope is that the folks who are serious about learning their workplace rights and helping each other will make the switch to the new forum, or at least spend the dollar to try it (what can you buy for $1 anymore, anyway?) But I have no plans to shut this forum down.

Punch, security is part of the reason why we're charging for the new forum. That's the surest way to make sure we have a group of people who are committed, and not just the link-posters and spammers we're always fighting off here. If you have ideas for heightened security, I'm very open to them. I want to fully address that concern. Why don't you send me an email at undercoverlawyer@gmail.com if you have suggestions or specific concerns.

Yes, the new forum does have a search function, as well as more categories, easier ability to post pictures, links and even videos. I plan on taking the best posts (as in most useful to the most people) from here and moving them to the new forum. Those posts will be easier to find with all the new forum's functionality. I don't plan on deleting anything out of the archives here.

My goal is to simply take another step in building a strong community of people who help and encourage each other while learning their workplace rights, because together we can best fight back and stop one of life's most frustrating wrongs. A strong community is my goal. I'm totally open to feedback and suggestions in how to best achieve that goal.

    Yours, Curt

Welcome to the new Academy Forum! ... by Curt

The "General Workplace Discussions" will be our primary board, similar to the old forum. But, it will be easier to sub-divide into specific topics and make it easier to find what you are looking for.

This (new) forum has a number of features that the old forum did not, including ways to format your text and use smilies like or

I will be explaining more of the features over time, but for right now welcome to a better, more private place where you can share your work frustrations without the "prying eyes" of being out in the open on the internet.

We will start the forum with 5 forum Moderators: Littlelulu, SleeplessCop, Central_USA_RN, Lori, and Val. Each of them has an excellent story to tell and can help answer basic questions. Plus, each represents a different speciality, such as police work, nursing, government employees, and advocacy. You can easily see a list of all the moderators and how to message them by clicking on "The Team" in the bottom right side of the page.

Before you start posting, however, please take a moment to visit the "User Control Panel" where you can enter info about yourself, edit your signature (that appears at the bottom of each post you make), and choose an "avatar," which is the little picture that appears to the left of your posts.

After that, be sure to check out the Location Registries, and see if there's anyone else from your area in the forum yet. If not, start one for your area! Then check the "Industries" area, and see if there are people here working in your field. If not, then of course it would be great if you would start one.

The "General Workplace Discussions" will be our primary board, similar to the old forum. But, it will be easier to sub-divide into specific topics and make it easier to find what you are looking for.

So Welcome to the new, private, Academy Forums. You will find a lot of smart and sympathetic people here who can help you, and we hope you will reach out and help the people who come after you, too.

Thank you Curt for the info. On the subject of privacy and security I just happen to trust anonymity a bit more. I am the cautious type due to past experiences and believe it or not my past employment and what I witnessed. I am excited to take a look at your new Academy. Signing up soon!

Right Fletwood, the first month is a dollar and then if you sign up during the "initial sign up period", you keep the Academy at $14.00/mth even after all the videos and courses are available. Curt has spent much more time and money setting this up than any of us will ever know - plus all the time it has taken away from his "family time". He just NEVER ceases to amaze me how much he CARES about us and this horrible epidemic in this country of abusing GOOD employees.

How long will we have to join for the intro rate. The reason I am asking is that I am having internet problems everyday this week and I sometimes can not get on for a few days. I am at a neighbors house now and I have to go home. Thanks Curt for all you do. You have no idea how much you have helped me through all of this mess!!

Hey Punch, as the "Undercover" Lawyer, I obviously agree whole heartedly with your view that anonymity is the best security. That is NOT compromised in the Member Forum.

Also, just so everyone knows, I have been adding some "premium content" to the Academy Forum -- taking an article I've done and giving the Academy Forum Members more insights and strategies, taking the article posted publically to a deeper, more advanced level than I write on the regular site. Basically providing the more advanced and exclusive content to the more committed and advanced group.

I hope you'll consider trying it out for at least the first month for $1: http://undercoverlawyer.com/amember/signup.php

Correct, only your user name (that you select) similar to this forum. There's a "member profile" section that you can put nothing into, or some vague things (I list some hobbies, etc) or you can go into detail. It's 100% controlled by you, the user.

    Rashida,

Not sure what you mean by this... are you looking for info about pro se filing? Or, are you asking if that topic will be covered in the Employment Law Academy?

Curt, I *believe* Rashida is asking if there will be a course on Pro Se for those who either can't afford an attorney or can't find one that believes in them and their cases.

Rashida clarified this for me, sorry I didn't "get it" the first time.

Yes, how to file a case pro se (meaning acting as your own lawyer) will be covered in the Employment Law Academy. This is a topic we will cover in some depth, with example cases and forms that you can use.

Curt I am trying to join the Undercoverlawyer Academy but when I go to sign up I don't see the security lock so that means that anyone and everyone can view the privacy of my credit card information is it a better way to sign up.

Ayo, I'm glad you are joining the Academy and you will see "the security lock" after the first page. The first page is just where you set up your "sign-in" info for the forum. There's NO payment info there.

When you click through to pay (2nd screen), you are taken to the shopping cart page and you WILL see the lock. That is where you payment information is taken in, and it's the most secure of any on web.

You can rest assured that all your information is handled in the most secure possible way. People can NOT view your credit card information -- or any other members.

I use a very high end "shoppingcart" program, precisely because it is the most secure anywhere on the internet (and off the internet too, for that matter).

Here is the website explaining the security measures that are taken: http://www.1shoppingcart.com/pci-cisp-shopping-cart.asp

Let me know if you have any other questions at all about security, because it's a big concern of mine too -- I want everyone to know the lengths I've got to in order to make this the most secure and private online experience anywhere.

    Hey Curt,

Problem is, I have no credit cards - NONE - and I thank God for that. I was going to use my daughters, however she & her husband decided to DESTROY all of theirs due to all of the junk going on - I didn't know this until I ask her about it a few weeks ago.

So, if there is another way, let me know.

Are you using the same user id and password as here on the forum? That would be my first guess is that maybe you input your log in info incorrectly. I know that there has also been some doen time issues that have prevented other members from posting. Please post what is happening when you try to log in.
