To answer your question: to track if and when other employees are treated differently, keep a journal or log in a notebook of what you see around you.  Usually, the level of discipline an employee receives leaks out through the company grapevine.

Otherwise, record what you observe.  Is an employee absent after a major screw up, thus probably suspended?  Is another employee still working after a similar screw up? 

In brief, be a keen observer, and keep detailed records and notes (but NOT on your company computer).
